In the ongoing Indian Premier League, Sri Lanka veteran Lasith Malinga has bolstered Mumbai Indians (MI) bowling department after being roped in during the IPL 2019 Players’ Auction. Malinga has been the highest wicket-taker in the world’s richest league so far. He has bowled in tandem with promising Jasprit Bumrah, who has improved a lot over the years.
In 2018, Malinga was part of the Indians’ camp as a bowling consultant which subsequently saw him rolling over his golden arm for his IPL franchise, in the very next season.

The senior-most campaigner in Indians’ camp, Malinga has made a strong comeback in the IPL. He also backed himself to the Lankan fold following a dip in his form of late.
Malinga, who is the leading wicket-taker in IPL, has bagged seven wickets so far in four games.
Overall, the right-arm paceman has eked out 161 wickets at an incredible average of 19.03.
On the other side, Bumrah, who’s the IPL product, has also spearheaded Team India bowling department. Bumrah has also been named in the Men in Blue’s much-awaited 15-man squad for the 2019 World Cup.
The quadrennial event will get underway on May 30 in London. Virat Kohli-led India will take on South Africa on June 5 in Southampton.
Bumrah has emerged one of the top-most bowlers since he broke into the national team.

While playing an integral role for Indians, Malinga stated Bumrah is the number one bowler in contemporary cricket.
“We know exactly how good Jasprit is. He is the number one bowler in Mumbai Indians and world cricket,” Malinga revealed on MI Tv.
In the previous game, Bumrah conceded just 22 runs in his quota of four overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Rohit Sharma-led Indians won the match convincingly by five wickets.
In eight matches, Bumrah has bagged only eight wickets; however, he has been quite economical which reads as 6.81 with an average of 26.12.
