IPL 2019: Match 15, MI vs CSK – Mumbai Indians Predicted Playing XI
Mumbai Indians (MI) have had a very average start to the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have lost two and have managed to win only one game and find themselves in the sixth spot. However, they will look change the statistics when they face defending champions Chennai Super Kings on April 2 (Wednesday) at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
The three-time IPL winners have played good cricket but lacked the finish. They will hope to not leave things for the end against Chennai who boast quality players in their ranks – capable of finishing games single-handedly.
Mumbai Indians in all likelihood will retain the same combination and will aim to put the best feet forward to beat MS Dhoni-led CSK.
Date and Venue: April 3 (Wednesday) at 8:00 pm, Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai
Here is the predicted playing XI of Mumbai Indians for match 15 in IPL 2019 against Chennai Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium:
Rohit Sharma has got starts in all the games but has failed to convert those. The Mumbai Indians skipper needs to take the onus on himself and play big knocks to help his side post good totals. The management will want their favourite son to carry the team on the road of winning.
QUINTON de KOCK
Quinton de Kock scored a half-century in the last game and will look to continue that form against Chennai Super Kings. The southpaw can play big shots, and Mumbai Indians will hope that Proteas cricketer gives them a good start against Chennai Super Kings.
Suryakumar Yadav has emerged into a reliable batsman batting at the top-order. He will look to make the most of the opportunity batting on a known wicket – where he has played cricket all his life. Kumar is also a good fielder which adds value to the side.
Yuvraj Singh has been in terrific form in the ongoing IPL which has been a massive boost for Mumbai Indians. The southpaw has cleared the grounds with ease and will aim to continue doing so going into the league.
The veteran all-rounder from Windies has been featuring for the Mumbai Indians for quite some time now. Kieron Pollard has completely looked off-colours and needs to hit the strides soon to retain his place in the playing XI.
Hardik Pandya has played late cameos batting in the lower-order. This will do a world of good to the all-rounder who’s aim will be to chip in with the ball as well. Pandya has undergone many in the last few months and will look to perform and be in the good space ahead of the World Cup.
The Pandya brothers have added a lot of value to the Mumbai Indians squad. Similar to his brother, Krunal Pandya is also a complete package and can contribute to all departments. He has not made the headlines so far and will look to help his side return to victory.
Mitchell McClenaghan has been costly this season, but the Kiwi pacer can pick wickets with the new ball. Mumbai Indians will want their star pacer to provide early breakthrough against a deadly Chennai Super Kings batting-order.
Mayank Markande is a talented young leg-spinner who has good variations up his sleeves. Besides, he also bowls a tight line and length and has the pedigree to pick wickets when required. He will have to be on top of his game against the defending champions.
Jasprit Bumrah is the best death over bowler in the world. He has time and again delivered for his franchise and will have the job to stop the likes of MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo. The young pacer likes to take up challenges, and it will be an exciting battle to watch.
Lasith Malinga is a veteran in the format, and one needs to learn the art of bowling yorkers from him. Although he has grown older, but there is saying ‘form is temporary, but class is permanent.’ The Sri Lankan will be keen to justify his selection contributing significantly to his team’s success.
