The defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have continued their winning form after beating the host side Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens (Kolkata) on Sunday (14th April) evening.

CSK captain MS Dhoni decided to bowl first after winning the toss. In the first innings, KKR managed to score 161/8 in 20 overs. In reply, CSK chased down that target in 19.4 overs after losing five wickets.

  • It is the fourth highest individual score by a KKR batsman against CSK.

  • Chris Lynn is the third overseas cricketer to score 1,000+ T20 runs for KKR. Jacques Kallis (1,603 runs) and Andre Russell (1,209 runs) were the first two overseas cricketers to score 1,000+ T20 runs for this side.

  • The Australian cricketer is the fourth batsman to hit 50 or more IPL sixes for KKR. Andre Russell (95 sixes), Yusuf Pathan (85 sixes) and Robin Uthappa (81 sixes) were the first three KKR batsmen to achieve this feat.

i) CSK leg-spinner Imran Tahir had the bowling figures of 4-0-27-4.

  • It is the second best bowling figures by a visiting bowler against KKR at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). The record is 4-0-21-4 by Makhaya Ntini (CSK) at Kolkata on 18th May 2008.
  • It is the second best bowling figures by an overseas bowler during a T20 match between KKR and CSK. The record is 4-0-21-4 by Makhaya Ntini (CSK) at Kolkata on 18th May 2008.
