IPL 2019, Match 37: Delhi Capitals vs Delhi Capitals- Mandeep Singh’s Direct Hit Sends Back Prithi Shaw
Kings XI Punjab batsman Mandeep Singh inflicted a sensational direct hit which brought about the downfall of Prithvi Shaw in the match between the Delhi Capitals and the Kings XI Punjab. Mandeep Singh did bat well during his tenure in the crease but failed to convert his start into a big one. Mandeep Singh has been the floater in any franchises he has been part of so far.
After batting first, the Kings XI Punjab posted a score of 163 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Chris Gayle played a stunning knock and smashed the Delhi Capitals bowlers all around the park during his whirlwind display of batsmanship. He smashed 69 of 36 deliveries which were studded with 6 fours and 5 sixes.
Sandeep Lamichhane made a grand comeback after getting smashed all around the park by Chris Gayle. He eventually went on to bag 3 crucial wickets which changed the course of the game. After Gayle’s dismissal, it was a great comeback by the DC bowlers to contain the Punjab batters.
Debutant Harpreet Brar smashed a quickfire 20 of 12 deliveries which eventually propelled them to a competitive score of 163. Delhi Capitals began pretty well with openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan looking in great touch. However, it was a great direct hit from Mandeep Singh which sends Prithvi back to the pavilion.
