IPL 2019, Match 40: RR vs DC – Delhi Capitals’ Predicted Playing XI, Jaipur
After some consistent struggling years in past, the Delhi franchise has finally overcome this season with their new looks. The Delhi Capitals (DC) has already earned 12 points in this IPL season after playing ten matches, where they have won six matches and lost four matches.
On Monday (22nd April) night, DC will meet the host side Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). In the ongoing IPL season, it will be the first meeting between DC and RR.
In their previous home meetings, RR dominated over the Delhi franchise as RR won four matches out of their five meetings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur). Since May 2012, the Delhi franchise has never beaten RR at this venue as they suffered two defeats since then. However, the Delhi franchise is desperate to change their fate in their upcoming meeting.
The young opening batsman Prithvi Shaw has mostly failed to play big innings in this IPL season, excluding his impressive 99 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Delhi. The right-handed batsman has scored 220 runs in 10 matches with an average of 22.00.
The left-handed opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is in top form in the ongoing IPL season. At present, he is the leading run-scorer for his team in the ongoing IPL season as he has scored 347 runs in 10 matches with an average of 38.55. The left-handed batsman has already scored three half-centuries in this season.
Shreyas Iyer (captain)
The DC captain Shreyas Iyer is also in good batting form, and he is playing some mature cricket at the present moment. He is the second most run-scorer for his side in the ongoing IPL season. The right-handed top-order batsman has scored 327 runs (average 36.33) after playing ten matches in this season. He has already scored two half-centuries and three 40s in this IPL season.
Rishabh Pant (wk)
The wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has played modest cricket in this season, but he needs to play more consistent and mature cricket. In the ongoing IPL season, the left-handed batsman has scored 258 runs (average 28.66) in ten matches.
The South African cricketer Colin Ingram hasn’t performed consistently this season. The left-handed batsman has scored 157 runs in eight innings with an average of 22.42.
The Indian bowling all-rounder Axar Patel has failed to perform to his potential in the IPL 2019. After playing eight matches in this season, he has picked up six wickets (average 31.22) and scored 81 runs (average 27.00).
The South African bowling all-rounder Chris Morris has performed well as a bowler in this IPL season. At present, the right-arm pacer is the second most wicket-taker for this side in the ongoing IPL 2019. He has bagged 11 wickets in seven matches with an average of 19.81.
The senior leg-spinner Amit Mishra has failed to put a solid impact for his team in this season. In the ongoing IPL season, he has taken four wickets in five matches.
The Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada is in great form as a bowler. At present, the right-arm pacer is the Purple Cap holder in the ongoing IPL season. After playing ten matches in this season, he has taken 21 wickets with an impressive average of 14.28 (economy rate 7.69).
Though he hasn’t taken many wickets in this IPL season, Ishant Sharma has impressed with his economical bowling performances. While the right-arm pacer has picked up five wickets in eight matches of this season, his economy rate is 7.07.
The Nepalese leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has impressed in this IPL season. He has already taken eight wickets (average 21.75) in this season after playing five matches.
