On Friday (29th March) night, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) claimed their first victory in this IPL season after beating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by five wickets (with six balls remaining) at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium (Hyderabad).
RR captain Ajinkya Rahane decided to bat first after winning the toss. The visiting side RR managed to score 198/2 (20 overs) in the first innings. In reply, SRH chased that big target successfully in 19 overs after losing five wickets.

- It is the highest individual score for a captain in a T20 match between RR and SRH. Ajinkya Rahane (RR) was also the previous record holder with 65* at Jaipur on 29th April 2018.
Sanju Samson

i) RR cricketer Sanju Samson scored his second IPL century. However, it was his first century for RR.
- Sanju Samson is the fourth Indian cricketer to score more than one IPL century. Virat Kohli (four IPL centuries), Virender Sehwag (two IPL centuries) and Murali Vijay (two IPL centuries) were the first three Indians to hit more than one IPL century.
- Sanju Samson is the fourth RR batsman to score a century. Shane Watson, Yusuf Pathan and Ajinkya Rahane also hit at least one century for RR. Shane Watson hit two centuries for RR while Yusuf Pathan and Ajinkya Rahane hit one century each for RR.
ii) RR cricketer Sanju Samson scored 102 runs.
- It is the highest individual score for a batsman in a T20 match between RR and SRH. The previous record holder was Shane Watson (RR) with 98* at Jaipur on 27th April 2013.
- It was the third highest individual score by a RR batsman. Shane Watson and Ajinkya Rahane are on the top of the list with 104* and 103* respectively.
