Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only player in the World Cricket, who got the privilege to lift all the ICC trophies as the skipper. MS Dhoni lifted Indian cricket to enormous heights with his skilful captaincy and the masterful batting during those crunch games. Meanwhile, Matthew Hayden showers words of praise on the Jharkhand Dynamite.

Every other person in Indian cricket is a fan of MS Dhoni. They cherish him for his success and more importantly, for all the hard work he had done for the Indian Cricket Team. In between,  the Australian highlighted the calmness of MS Dhoni and his positive impact on the game.

MS Dhoni is almost like the leader of the nation – Hayden

As the Indian Premier League heads into the final match of the 12th season, former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden has lavished praise on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain. The  former CSK player Matthew Hayden has said that Dhoni is “not just a player, he is an era of cricket.”

“You know Dhoni, he is not just a player, he is an era of cricket. In many ways I think MS is like the captain of the gully cricket team, he is one of us, he will do anything,” Hayden said. So, someone like that at the helm will make you feel calm, will make you feel relaxed and that’s why Thala Dhoni that word ‘Thala’, obviously meaning the leader of Chennai, but it’s almost like the leader of a nation.”

Dhoni has been hailed for his temperament and is called ‘Captain Cool’ for his calm demeanour. Hayden said that the relaxed attitude of Dhoni rubs off on his teammates, which leads to better performance.

 “You see how he warms up, he bowls his leg spinners, he catches, he asks players and people around the squad on how they are doing and he is so relaxed. And also, I think we can all relate to him because we all have busy lives working around with friends and families and that’s a big commitment.”

So far, MS Dhoni-led side was finished on second in the league points-table with nine wins from 14 games but CSK went down against Mumbai in the first Qualifier at their home. And also, later, defeated Delhi Capitals by six wickets in the second qualifier on Friday to enter their eighth IPL final.
