IPL 2019: MS Dhoni On Verge Of Becoming First IPL Captain To Win 100 Games

The Thala of Chennai, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is standing near the doors of one of the massive records in the Indian Premier League. The flamboyant cricketer, who started his IPL career by leading Chennai Super Kings is all set to become first IPL captain to win 100 matches.

On Thursday night, Chennai Super Kings will lock horns with Ajinkya Rahane-led Rajasthan Royals. If MS Dhoni-led CSK manages to win the game at Jaipur, he will become the first IPL captain to win 100 games in the lucrative tournament.

So far, MS Dhoni got 99 wins in his kitty as a skipper:

So far, they had a stellar run in the tournament by sitting firmly on top of the points table. However, there really tough journey starts with the game against Rajasthan Royals. So far, most of the games have been played at Chennai, which is a brilliant venue for CSK over the years.

As the CSK track helps spinners, the absence of Dwayne Bravo hasn’t made much of an impact. However, with their games being out from their comfort zone, the absence of Bravo will be massive trouble for the team.

At any cost, Deepak Chahar and Scott Kuggeleijn should step up for the team on fast bowling wickets. Most probably, Rajasthan Royals would prepare fast-bowling decks, as CSK has heavily relied on their spinners.

Apart from the bowling department, the other primary concern for the team is their fielding section. They are dropping regular catches and the ground fielding is purely based on 3-4 fielders. However, the batting department looks solid for the MS Dhoni-led side.

Watson is getting into his zone while Faf du Plessis is in decent nick. On the other hand, Suresh Raina has always been consistent while Rayudu was the only concern for the team. In between, MS Dhoni is in fine form alongside pocket dynamite Kedar Jadhav.
