Mumbai Indians won the Super Over contest against Sunrisers Hyderabad to book their berth in the playoff stages. The 51st match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians went down to the wire. 17 were required off the last over and Hardik Pandya bowled two good deliveries. Pandya could get the yorker right on the third and bowled a full which was smashed for a straight six by Mohammed Nabi. However, the right-hander was dismissed on the next ball when he chased a wide ball and could not get the connection. Seven runs were needed off the last ball and Manish Pandey was able to score a six over mid-wicket to take the match into Super Over.
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and strangely decided to bat first in the 51st contest against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Turning Point of the Match
17 runs were needed of the last over and Manish Pandey was able to hit the last ball six to take the match into the Super Over.
Super Over
SRH lost the wicket of Manish Pandey on the first ball as he tried to come back for the second run after Krunal Pandya misfielded. Nabi was able to get a six on the third ball but he was cleaned by Jasprit Bumrah to give a target of nine runs.
Subsequently, Hardik Pandya smashed the first ball of Rashid Khan over the long-off boundary for a six.
IPL 2019: Sunrisers Hyderabad innings:
Sunrisers Hyderabad was sans David Warner and the target of 163 runs could have tricky. However, the visitors got off to a good start. Wriddhiman Saha once again provided a quick start as the right-hander scored 25 runs from 15 balls with the help of five fours. However, Saha was flummoxed by the slower one from Jasprit Bumrah.
Subsequently, the in-form Manish Pandey was able to hit the ground running from the get-go. Pandey got 16 runs from the first five deliveries against Lasith Malinga with the help of two fours and one six towards the third man.

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson continued his dismal form going when he tried to paddle sweep Krunal Pandya on the first ball of his opening over. However, the flamboyant batsman could not get any connection with the bat. Krunal Pandya and Quinton de Kock convinced Rohit Sharma to go for the review and the umpire had to change his decision as Kane was plumbed in front.
Vijay Shankar failed to get his timing right and decided to go for the big shot on the 17th ball. However, the right-hander could only find Kieron Pollard at long-on. On the other hand, Manish Pandey continued his good form as he brought his third fifty of the season which was the 15th of his IPL career. However, the runs didn’t come from both ends and the required run-rate kept going up.

IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians innings:
The hosts could not get off to a good start as they lost their captain Rohit Sharma early. The stylish batsman tried to go for the pull shot but got a bottom edge which was easily taken by Mohammed Nabi. Sharma could only 24 runs from 18 balls.
Subsequently, Suryakumar Yadav was able to hit the ground running as he played some good aerial shots through the cow corner. However, the right-hander once again failed to convert another good start into a substantial score. The Mumbai batsman made room for himself but found Rashid Khan on the off-side boundary.
Evin Lewis tried to clear the midwicket boundary against Mohammed Nabi but he could only find Vijay Shankar at the boundary ropes. On the other hand, Quinton de Kock struggled to get going in his innings. de Kock took 48 balls to brought his 4th fifty of the season, which was the second slowest of the season.

Hardik Pandya once again threatened to take away the game from Sunrisers Hyderabad as he scored one four and one six in his 10-ball 18. However, Pandya’s takeoff was shoot down by Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s bouncer at the fifth stump line. The right-hander got a top edge which gave another easy catch to Mohammed Nabi.
Quinton de Kock failed to get his timing right as he crawled to 69 runs from 58 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Thus, Mumbai Indian added 162 runs in their allotted 20 overs.
On the other hand, Khaleel Ahmed was the pick of the Sunrisers Hyderabad as the southpaw seamer scalped three wickets. Mohammed Nabi and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were both economical and snared one wicket each.
