Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Friday (March 22) has launched the pink jersey. While terming it as Royals’ ‘identity’, Rajasthan has showcased the jersey on having JK Lakshmi Cement as its title sponsors.
With Ajinkya Rahane all set to lead his side, the return of Steven Smith has subsequently bolstered the unit. The Royals will kick-off their IPL kick-off on March 25 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
However, they’ll play their last league match on 4th of May against the revamped Delhi Capitals (DC).
In the eleventh edition of IPL, Royals finished on the fourth spot following supreme effort with the bat from Jos Buttler, in particular. This time around, the Jaipur-based franchise is eyeing to lay hands on their second title.
Overall, in 14 matches, last year, the Blue brigade has won seven and lost as many games in the previous edition of IPL.
In 2008, Royals’ solitary title came in the inaugural edition of the IPL. Back then, under the dynamic leadership of Shane Warne, Rajasthan-based team thumped Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by three wickets at Wankhede in Mumbai on June 1st.
For Rajasthan, Yusuf Pathan was the Player of the Match for scoring a half-century. He has also bagged three wickets while giving away 22 runs in four overs.
Pink Jersey launch ahead of IPL 2019:
In a one-minute six-second long video, Royals’ Twitter handle revealed the number three jersey of Rahane before screening five players who donned a new jersey.
Also, it included wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson and Varun Aaron apart from Rahane and Smith.

At the launch, as many as five players unveiled the jersey for Royals. English recruit Ben Stokes and wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler were available at the launch of pink jersey for the impending IPL edition.

The much-awaited league will kick-off on March 23 between CSK and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
