Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) batting force Jos Buttler on Saturday (April) 20), has returned to England to be alongside her wife Louise Webber, who’s expecting her first child. With this, Buttler’s early exit has further left Royals hanging on a thin thread. Ahead of RR vs MI, it’s the massive blow for Royals.
Pertinently, Buttler was bound to stay in India until April 22 (Monday) when Royals will take on Delhi Capitals (DC). However, it has been halted after news broke out regarding a couple is expecting a baby.
In 2017, Buttler tied a knot with his long-time girlfriend, Louise.
Earlier, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had extended a direction to its World Cup-bound players to make presence felt by or before April 26.
With 2019 World Cup kicking off on May 30, the Three Lions are scheduled to face Pakistan in the limited-overs series. The white-ball competition will commence from May 5 at Sophia Gardens.
The series will culminate with the fifth and final ODI at Headingley in Leeds on May 19 (Sunday).
Besides, Buttler had already made a cut in the 15-man provisional squad for England’s home World Cup Campaign.
Earlier, Buttler was involved in a Mankading controversy when Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) skipper Ravichandran Ashwin Mankaded him in Jaipur on March 25.
The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman Buttler had amassed 311 runs in eight games for Royals in the ongoing twelfth edition of the IPL 2019. While scoring at an average of 38.57, Buttler further slammed 89-run knock against Indians earlier.
Back then, he blasted Alzarri Joseph for 28 runs in an over.
In the eleventh edition of the IPL, Buttler had shouldered responsibility by recording five half-centuries in the season.
Overall, in 45 IPL matches, Buttler has accumulated 1386 runs at an average of 35.53.
Anyway, with Royals playing under new skipper Steven Smith, it’s a do-or-die clash for the hosts. They have won two games in eight fixtures so far.
Concurrently, Royals are languishing seventh on the IPL points table.
