Sarfaraz Khan, who has been marred by injuries, is relying on his supreme show in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Following a mixed show in the IPL 2019, the youngster started off his fresh season with stroke-filled unbeaten 48 off 29 balls against Rajasthan Royals (RR). However, his father-cum-mentor Naushad Khan is confident of his to deliver at Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) den.
In the second game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Sarafraz managed to score just 13 runs.
Well, he is eyeing to score runs in the ongoing game at Punjab’s home ground Mohali. With KXIP taking on Mumbai Indians (MI), Sarfraz has a chance to make most of the opportunity in his third game of the season for his franchise Punjab.

Naushad is keen to see his son delivering in each of his appearances for the different tourneys. He stressed while added the IPL show will help a player to leave a significant impact.
“The training comprised all that a cricketer does in the off-season to stay fit. Now, he has also enrolled for the T20 Mumbai League. Let’s see if he is picked. His IPL performance will count,” Naushad told Sportstar.
While struggling to maintain his body in the past, Sarfaraz has further sweated out in nets to improve his game. Adding ahead of the kick-off of IPL season, Sarfaraz has trained at the Mumbai Cricket Association’s facility centre to work on his lower body.
In the tenth edition of the IPL, the knee injury has forced him to stay away from the cricketing carnival. However, he had shown the glimpse of some pure hitting against Royals.
Being back in the fold for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Sarfaraz couldn’t offer much for Virat Kohli-led franchise in 2018.

In the recent past, Sarfaraz has boosted himself with the success in local tourneys including DY Patil competition and Kanga League. He further accumulated 284 runs in four innings while playing for Payyade Sports Club.
Meanwhile, Sarfaraz, who has changed his base to Uttar Pradesh, had to follow the procedure of rules and regulations to return to Mumbai.
Naushad revealed he has followed the game of his son since it was streamed live across social media platforms.
“Sarfaraz wanted to come back and play for Mumbai, so he had to follow the rules of the cooling-off period. Most of the games in DY Patil Tournament were coming live on Facebook and YouTube. I have never missed him in action. At times, if I thought he needed me, I would go to the venue,” Naushad inferred.
With the change in a base, Sarfaraz is keen to script the history while donning a different jersey, this time around.
Back in Mumbai, Sarfaraz has emerged as a wonder kid at the age of 12 before he went on to bag distinct records under his belt.
In overall 28 matches, Sarfaraz, who made his IPL debut in 2015, has amassed 287 runs at an average of 23.91.
