CSK have posted a fine score of 179 against Delhi Capitals. Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was back in the playing but he lost the toss as Shreyas Iyer decided to sent the home team to bat. The hosts got off to a Test match start as they added only three runs in the first three overs. The pressure was mounting when Shane Watson decided to break the shackles.

However, Jagadeesha Suchith who is playing his maiden match of the season was able to scalp the big wicket of Shane Watson. Subsequently, Suresh Raina was able to hit the ground runnings. The southpaw batsman looked in fine form as he timed the ball with perfection. Raina scored his second fifty of the season, which was his 37th fifty of the Indian Premier League.

The left-hander scored 59 runs off 37 balls with the help of eight fours and one six. Jagadeesha Suchith once again accounted for Suresh Raina and scalped his second wicket of the match.

On the other hand, Faf du Plessis struggled to get any timing going. du Plessis scored a peculiar knock of 39 runs with the help of two fours and as many sixes. However, the South African skipper chewed up as many as 42 balls for his tortoise cricket. du Plessis struggling innings came to an end when Shikhar Dhawan took a good catch off the bowling of Axar Patel.

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni promoted himself to number four position. However, Ravindra Jadeja another player who had got back into the playing XI was able to hit the ground running. The southpaw batsman was able to get 16 off the first five deliveries he faced with the help of two fours and one six. Jadeja continued in a similar fashion as he provided the finishing touches to the side as he scored 10-ball 25.
