CSK have posted a fine score of 179 against Delhi Capitals. Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was back in the playing but he lost the toss as Shreyas Iyer decided to sent the home team to bat. The hosts got off to a Test match start as they added only three runs in the first three overs. The pressure was mounting when Shane Watson decided to break the shackles.
However, Jagadeesha Suchith who is playing his maiden match of the season was able to scalp the big wicket of Shane Watson. Subsequently, Suresh Raina was able to hit the ground runnings. The southpaw batsman looked in fine form as he timed the ball with perfection. Raina scored his second fifty of the season, which was his 37th fifty of the Indian Premier League.

Raina looked in prime form.
The left-hander scored 59 runs off 37 balls with the help of eight fours and one six. Jagadeesha Suchith once again accounted for Suresh Raina and scalped his second wicket of the match.
On the other hand, Faf du Plessis struggled to get any timing going. du Plessis scored a peculiar knock of 39 runs with the help of two fours and as many sixes. However, the South African skipper chewed up as many as 42 balls for his tortoise cricket. du Plessis struggling innings came to an end when Shikhar Dhawan took a good catch off the bowling of Axar Patel.

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni promoted himself to number four position. However, Ravindra Jadeja another player who had got back into the playing XI was able to hit the ground running. The southpaw batsman was able to get 16 off the first five deliveries he faced with the help of two fours and one six. Jadeja continued in a similar fashion as he provided the finishing touches to the side as he scored 10-ball 25.
Here is how Twitter reacted to CSK innings:
This was no Unadkat or Yadav, this was Trent Boult in the final over that Dhoni took to the cleaners. ??????#CSKvDC

2 runs in the first 2 overs. And 179 in the end. Just the MSD things. The 10 ball 25 run knock of Jadeja was gold dust too. #CSKvDC #IPL

Well played Jadeja. 25 in 10 when you came in is a job well done.

During his brief stay, Murali Vijay looked in fine touch v MI and could have been given one more chance #CSKvDC

You might think these are not enough for #CSK but if there is no dew batting can become difficult. Chinna Thalai, Raina, looking like the player we have known in the #IPL

For the first time in CSK’s IPL history, they have had to depend a lot on Dhoni the batsman along with Dhoni the Captain. Hence playing today despite not being 100%. #CSKvDC

Morris, unfortunately, hasn't delivered and has leaked runs in every game. Wonder why Capitals left out Lamichhane here.

Apart from swing, the one thing you can always guarantee with Trent Boult is a smile. One of the few modern fast bowlers who does not sledge. #IPL2019

Mind games at the toss from #MSD ? Less dew expected, would have preferred to bat says the #CSK captain after #DC win the toss and opt to field. ? #CSKvsDC

Dhoni hasn't trusted Bravo at all as a batsman in this season, i thought his batting will benefit more now a days in this format.

This is terrible death bowling by DC. Full tosses, half volleys and short on the body with field up on the leg side. CSK are pulling away now. Unless there's dew or madman like Pant goes berserk, they seem to have enough on the board looking at Chennai's record. #CSKvDC

160, a match winning score on this track, is well on card for CSK with Boult to bowl two overs here.

Hmm @ChennaiIPL need to put their foot on the throttle in order to get a defendable total. What do you think will be enough? #CSKvsDC
