IPL 2019: Twitter Reacts as Sunrisers Hyderabad Posts a Competitive Score

Sunrisers Hyderabad has posted 175 after Chennai Super Kings captain once again continued his penchant of winning the toss as he won his ninth consecutive toss. MS Dhoni decided to sent Sunrisers Hyderabad into bat as the visitors once again had Bhuvneshwar Kumar as their leader. The tourists could not get off to a good start as they lost their in-form opener, Jonny Bairstow, early.
Bairstow who is playing his last match of the season got back to the dugout even without troubling the scorers. Bairstow tried to cut Harbhajan Singh, who was making his comeback but got a thin edge which was sharply taken by MS Dhoni.
Warner and Pandey added 115 runs.
Thus, Sunrisers Hyderabad who were playing without their full-time skipper Kane Williamson was exposed early to their bleak middle order. Manish Pandey, who was drafted back into the playing XI, was not amongst the runs. However, the right-hander was able to hit the ground running from the get-go.
Pandey came up with his best as he completed his 13th IPL fifty off just 25 balls with the help of seven four and three sixes. On the other hand, David Warner continued his good form as he brought his 43th IPL fifty soon after Pandey’s milestone.
However, the former skipper could not carry forward to make a big score as he was stumped by MS Dhoni. Warner could get the connection against Harbhajan Singh and Dhoni did the rest. Warner and Pandey posted a fine partnership of 115 runs for the second wicket. Consequently, the Turbanator scalped his second wicket of the day.
Vijay Shankar was able to get going from the word go as he smashed a straight six on the third ball he faced. Shankar could not clear mid-wicket when he tried to go big against Chahar. However, Suresh Raina fluffed a simple chance when Manish Pandey was flummoxed by Deepak Chahar’s slower one.
Hence, SRH could not provide the finishing touches to their innings as they added 34 runs from overs 15-19.
