Former Royal Challengers Bangalore coach and a former New Zealand skipper Daniel Vettori called Virat Kohli a good captain because of some of the qualities which he noticed in the Indian skipper during his tenure as an RCB coach. Daniel Vettori stated that Virat Kohli is always open to listen to new ideas and that is the trait which makes him a good skipper.
“When I used to speak to him or any other coaches (used to) speak to him, there is always a conversation around what you think is best, where can this work,” Daniel Vettori was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo.
“It wouldn’t always be a number-driven conversation. It would be around some intuition and understanding of the game. I think, ultimately, when you sold a compelling story to Virat, he was always on board, open to listening and that made him such a good captain,” he further added.

Despite not being able to lead Royal Challengers Bangalore to a single IPL title till date, the RCB management decided to stick with Virat Kohli even for the 2019 edition and yet again RCB failed to qualify for the playoffs after losing their first 6 matches on a trot. They gave a valiant effort in the last stretch of the league stage and managed to win 5 of the last 8 matches.
After yet another dismal season, Virat Kohli took to his social networking site and shared a video along with AB de Villiers where he can be seen thanking the fans of RCB for supporting them despite RCB not performing up to the mark. He said that RCB will do every possible thing to change their fortunes in the upcoming year.

The four teams for the playoffs were clear yesterday after Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in the final game of the tournament to finish a top two finish. They will play against the Chennai Super Kings in Qualifier 1 which will be followed by the eliminator clash between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Meanwhile, SRH became the first team ever in IPL history to qualify through to the playoffs with more defeats than losses.
