Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Shardul Thakur is generally on the expensive side. However, came the final, the Chennai pacer was right on the money. Thakur bowled a perfect bouncer to Krunal Pandya who top-edge the pull shot. Subsequently, fast bowler ran towards the ball to take a fine catch. In fact, Thakur bungled the ball in the first attempt, however, he was quick to grab it on the second attempt.

Furthermore, this was not the first time when Shardul Thakur scalped the wicket of the Mumbai Indians’ left-handed batsman. Earlier in the innings, the right-arm pacer bowled a fine bouncer to Quinton de Kock to dismiss the wicketkeeper batsman.

Shardul Thakur took two wickets.

Quinton de Kock and Rohit Sharma added 45 runs in the first five overs. Subsequently, Rohit Sharma was also flummoxed by the slower delivery from Deepak Chahar.

Kieron Pollard was the top-scorer for Mumbai Indians as he scored 41 runs. On the other side, Deepak Chahar was the pick of the defending champions bowlers as he scalped three wickets and gave away only 26 runs in his allotted four overs. Furthermore, Imran Tahir scalped two wickets and gave away 23 runs in the three overs he bowled.
