The last season has been one stellar ride for Rajasthan Royals. Out of nowhere, they reached playoffs with a fine display of cricketing skills. However, it was only for one game, as they lost the game in the eliminator to Kolkata Knight Riders. Meanwhile, Jofra Archer believes that they can win the trophy this time around.

Jofra Archer was the find of the season in IPL 2018. His heroics at the death helped his side to secure victories during crunch situations of the game. However, he couldn’t repeat the same, as he, unfortunately, sustained injury.

There is no reason why we can’t win this season – Jofra Archer

Speaking of the upcoming season, the flamboyant cricketer quoted that they have got a great chance to make things fall in place for the team. Further, he went on to add saying that the presence of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler will be a massive boost for the team.

“We have a realistic chance of winning this season as we have a good team. Last season things didn’t go our way with international selections as Jos (Buttler) and Ben (Stokes) were missing in the eliminator. There is no reason why we can’t go all the way,” all-rounder Jofra Archer said in an exclusive interaction with Hindustan Times.

Unfortunately, he sustained an injury in the previous season but this time, he would like to make a note of it and wants to deliver goods for the team. Jofra Archer wants to bag at least 23 wickets in the upcoming season for Rajasthan Royals.

“I got injured last season and as a result could not play all the matches. This year I hope to stay fit and pick up 23 wickets if possible. It is tough bowling in the death and you can practice as much as you want but it is on the day that you have to believe that things will go right for you and do them accordingly,” the 23-year old said.

All in all, as Jofra Archer said, they got a brilliant squad to make things fall in place. They will be taking on Kings XI Punjab in their first game at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Rajasthan.

On the personal front, this would be the defining season for Archer, as he wants to feature for England in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. There can be no good platform than IPL to display his skills.
