Ashish Nehra, the bowling coach and mentor of the team is one of the few candidates in the RCB dugout to be a worried character. The team is failing to taste the success on a regular basis in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2019. Meanwhile, he speaks on changing the core of the team.

So far, Royal Challengers Bangalore had made steady changes to their batting lineup. One day, Virat Kohli opened the innings and on the other day, Shimron Hetmyer took the role. In the fourth game, AB de Villiers batted at number 3 position.

Batting-order keeps shuffling – Ashish Nehra

Speaking of the changes in the side, the coach Ashish Nehra quoted that the change in lineups is quite a usual thing for any franchise. He gave a couple of examples citing at Nitish Rana’s batting position and the absence of Harbhajan Singh facing Rajasthan Royals.

“If you look at any franchise, there will be hardly one or two sides which have the likes of Bairstow and Warner who are in good nick and they are openers too. And if you look at the other teams, the batting order keeps shuffling. I have seen KKR where Nitish Rana did well at the top and they have changed that slot in the next game,” Nehra said.

Nitish Rana performed brilliantly against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the first game of the season, however, he has been pushed down in the very next game. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh was the man of the match at Cheppauk in the first game but removed from the team in the next game on the same venue.

”This is such a fast-paced game where you might lose a couple of games here and there and you have to think what those little alterations could be done. It’s very difficult to go with the same eleven every time. If you see, Harbhajan (Singh) was the Man of the Match in the first game and he didn’t get to play the third game which was also at the same venue (Chepauk),” he added.

There are a few games when you play well but end up losing:

Further, he highlighted a statement saying that there will be the teams, who end up winning despite performing ordinary on the given day. While, on the other day, the team will lose the game despite performing exceptionally well.

”You have to be on top of your game, There will be a few games where you play well and still end up on the losing side, and at the same time there will be games where you don’t really perform up to the mark and still end up winning,” he concluded while speaking to reporters.

Well, it would be interesting to see how Royal Challengers Bangalore will approach the game in the upcoming few games. Most probably, it is the time to bring the reserves to get a game and show their charisma for the team.
