IPL 2019,Match 45: Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad- Match Review

Rajasthan Royals won their 5th game of Vivo IPL 12 after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets and with 5 deliveries to spare in the 45th match of the tournament. Courtesy impressive knocks from Ajinkya Rahane, Liam Livingstone and Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals managed to chase down the target of 161 in the final over of the match. Earlier in the day, it was a great knock from Manish Pandey which took Hyderabad to a score of 160 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

The Turning Point of the match

There were a few turning points in the match between the RR and the SRH. Earlier in the day, it was Jaydev Unadkat who made a great impression for RR with a good spell of bowling. He also bagged the Man of the Match owing to the exceptional spell of 2/26 in his allotted 4 overs. The opening slot of Liam Livingstone and Ajinkya Rahane also did the job for Rajasthan Royals.

Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad- 2nd innings

Chasing a competitive target of 161 runs, Rajasthan Royals began quite brilliantly courtesy the new opening pair of Ajinkay Rahane and Liam Livingstone. Rahane who has looked in brilliant touch ever since getting sacked as the RR skipper, he has done a terrific job for the Royals. Along with Lam Livinsgtone, he shared a 78 runs stand in 9.1 overs.

Livingstone who was playing just his 2nd match of the tournament looked in great touch and raced off to 44. He played some great shots and looked in complete control of proceedings. He struck 4 fours and 3 sixes during his knock. After quick dismissals of the openers, it was Sanju Samson who took the onus on himself to chase the target down.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers failed to grab crucial opportunities and RR literally ran way with the game. It was a great effort by Rajasthan to chase the target down especially with their backs down to the wall.

It was Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith who won the toss and asked the visitors to bat. In the absence of Jonny Bairstow, it was Kane Williamson who came out to open the innings with David Warner.

The southpaw again looked in good touch but it was Oshane Thomas who sent back Kane Williamson back to the pavilion.

Manish Pandey played a terrific knock and shared a 75 runs stand with David Warner. Manish Pandey continued his exceptional form and scored 61 of just 36 deliveries.

He played a great knock and was instrumental in getting SRH to a competitive total in the end. Jaydev Unadkat after having a horrific tournament finally returned back to form with a couple of wickets for 26 runs.

After losing the wicket of David Warner, it was a downward slide for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they kept losing wickets on a consistent basis. Eventually, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to score 160 in their allotted 20 overs.
