A massive blow for Delhi Capitals ahead of the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore as their premier spinner Amit Mishra has picked up an injury in the bowling finger. Mishra was writhing in pain during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders after diving to catch the ball in his follow through.
Amit Mishra has been the vital cog for the team in all the previous matches. While picking wickets, he has also kept the check on the run rate. In the batters dominating ground of Sharjah, Mishra displayed his class by picking the wicket of Shubmna Gill before injuring his finger. In an effort to grab Nitish Rana’s catch, the spinner dived while hurting the finger.
Soon after, he left the ground after Physio came to check him up on the ground. He bowled only two overs and gave away 14 runs. If he had bowled two more overs, DC might have won the match with more runs margin.
Amit Mishra’s inclusion doubtful:
Speaking to ANI, a DC official said that scans were conducted on his finger on Sunday and he is doubtful for Monday’s game because they don’t want to take any risk.
“He hurt his bowling finger and scans have been done to gauge the extent of the injury. The reports are to come in, but he is doubtful for today’s game against RCB. Obviously, a blow as he has been in good rhythm, but considering how he has been bowling, the team would definitely want to not risk him,” the official said.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals are the first time facing each other in the IPL 2020. Both the teams have won three matches out of four played.
