1. Pat Cummins (Kolkata Knight Riders) – INR 15.50 crore
The 26-year-old Australian right-arm pacer Pat Cummins had the base price of INR 2 crore. While Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) started the bid, Delhi Capitals (DC) joined in that auction, and their fight lasted for a long time. But DC finally gave up after RCB reached INR 14.75 crore. However, then, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) started their journey in that bid, and soon, they secured the right-arm pacer into their list by the spending of INR 15.50 crore. It was the most expensive overseas purchase in IPL auction history, but it was also the second most expensive purchase in IPL auction history.
Earlier, Pat Cummins played for KKR in 2014 & 2015 and served for Delhi Daredevils (now known as Delhi Capitals) in 2017. After playing 16 IPL matches, Cummins has taken 17 wickets.
