IPL 2020: KKR and MI are likely to set up their base in Abu Dhabi

Now, the Sports Tak has brought some new information about the franchises regarding their beginning of IPL 2020  journey.

  • Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is likely to set up their base in Abu Dhabi, just like they did in IPL 2014. It can be selected due to their lucky charm as KKR performed well in that tournament and Gautam Gambhir-led KKR won that tournament, which was their second IPL trophy victory.

  • Mumbai Indians (MI) is also likely to set up their base in Abu Dhabi. In IPL 2014, they set up their base in Dubai, but this time they are not following the same base. According to the Sports Tak, they have already selected a five-star hotel, which is 7-8 minute away from the Abu Dhabi cricket stadium (Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium).

IPL 2020: Teams will travel to the UAE after 26th August

Sports Tak also revealed that the teams are likely to start to travel to the UAE after 26th August. The reason for delaying their travel is to complete the visa process, approval from the UAE Government after setting up the SOPs, set up the bio-secure bubble etc.

Also, that news revealed that the present temperature in the UAE is around 48-degree Celsius. This high temperature can create a big issue for the players to practice as it will raise the chances of dehydration. The temperature is likely to get dropped a little bit after September. So, the temperature is likely to be cooler with the tournament progress.
