In the last few years, Andre Russell has evolved as a game-changer in the shortest format, both as a right-handed middle-order batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. As a batsman, like his fellow Caribbean star cricketers, Russell also likes to smash the balls over the boundary ropes. His power doesn’t care any barrier as he can hit a sixer even in injury.
In the IPL 2019, Russell was the hero for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as he won the Most Valuable Player award as well as Maximum Sixes Award (52 sixes). In the IPL history, Russell has hit 120 sixes in 64 matches. Meanwhile, he has smashed 425 sixes in 321 T20s.
