In his first IPL edition (2017), Ben Stokes won the Most Valuable Player award as he played an important role for his team Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) to reach the final and finish as the runners-up (316 runs and 12 wickets).

Playing for Rajasthan Royals in the next two seasons, Stokes failed to maintain that image. But at present, the English all-rounder Stokes is a very different player. The all-rounder was one of the crucial reasons for England’s first-ever Cricket World Cup victory in the last year as well as he played an important role to save the 2019 Ashes series at home. Even recently, he was one of the heroes for his national team to win the home Test series against West Indies.

With the time progress, Stokes is becoming a more mature player. At present, he is the no.1-ranked Test all-rounder and no.2-ranked ODI all-rounder.
