The Indian Premier League (IPL) is back as the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will host the IPL 2020 from 19th September to 10th November 2020. While the Indian cricket is off for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian cricketers are happy and excited to return on the cricket field during the IPL 2020.
There are also some Indian cricketers who haven’t played a recognised cricket match for almost a year or more than a year, and they are set to return to the game during the IPL 2020.
Here we are talking about the top five Indian cricketers who will return on the cricket field after almost a year during the IPL 2020
The 31-year-old Indian cricketer Mohit Sharma was once the regular player in the Indian ODI side. However, the right-arm pacer hasn’t played an international match since October 2015. \
From 2013 to 2015, he played 26 ODIs and eight T20Is where he managed to pick up 31 and six wickets respectively. He even represented the Indian team during the ICC World T20 2014 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, where India finished as the runners-up and semi-finalists respectively.
Due to his fitness issue, which led him to undergo surgery, he has played only one recognised cricket match since January 2019.
In the IPL 2019, while he was serving for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the IPL 2014 Purple Cap winner played the only match (against Mumbai Indians at Mumbai on 3rd April 2019). Since then, he hasn’t played any recognised cricket match yet.
While Mohit was released ahead of the 2020 IPL auction, the Delhi Capitals (DC) bought him for INR 50 lakh (base price) during the last auction.
