Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) innings
While it was a big target, KXIP made the chasing more difficult due to losing the wickets at regular intervals. The in-form openers skipper KL Rahul (11) and Mayank Agarwal (9) failed to provide any solid start in that chasing and the KXIP mostly struggled in that entire second innings.
Only Nicholas Pooran showed his strong character as his firing batting helped KXIP to stay in the game for a longer period. In the ninth over of that innings, which was the first over of Abdul Samad, Pooran collected 28 runs, including four sixes (three sixes in a row). In that same over, Pooran completed his half-century in just 17 balls – the fastest fifty in the IPL 2020.
After completing his half-century, Pooran continued his hard fight against the SRH bowlers but he didn’t get any support from the other end. In the 15th over, Rashid Khan ended his great batting performance as Pooran lost his wicket after scoring 77 runs off 37 balls (5 fours and 7 sixes).
Apart from Pooran and skipper Rahul, only Prabhsimran Singh (11) managed to reach the double-digit mark in that innings.
Rashid Khan was the best bowler in that innings as the SRH leg-spinner finished that match with the bowling figures of 4-1-12-3.

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) innings
SRH openers, captain David Warner and wicket-keeper batsman Jonny Bairstow provided the solid start and set the perfect base for a big total with their lengthy partnership. They not only scored 58/0 at the end of the mandatory powerplay, but they also stretched that partnership to 100 and further 150 runs mark.
While Bairstow scored a 28-ball fifty, Warner scored a 37-ball fifty. After completing his fifty, Warner became the first batsman in IPL history to register 50+ scores for 50 times. They built up the 160 runs partnership for the opening wicket. In the 16th over, Ravi Bishnoi finally broke that partnership after dismissing Warner for 52 runs off 40 balls (5 fours and only six).
