While CSK required 30 runs in the final two overs, Lockie Ferguson and Kamlesh Nagarkoti were mostly in control but Ravindra Jadeja finally managed to finish in the best position with his power-hitting abilities and utilising the opportunities. Ferguson delivered a costly over the waist hight no-ball in the 19th over, and Jadeja took that opportunity as he smashed a sixer on the free hit delivery.
In the final over, CSK had to score 10 runs to win that game. Though Nagarkoti conceded only three runs in the first four balls, Jadeja finished the game successfully after hitting two sixes in the final two balls of that over. Jadeja scored crucial match-winning 31 not out off just 11 balls (2 fours and 3 sixes) and Sam Curran was also not out on 13 runs off 14 balls (only four).
Among the KKR bowlers, Cummins (2/31) and Varun (2/20) both picked up two wickets each.

KKR openers Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana provided a good start as they scored 48/0 at the end of the powerplay. They set up the 53 runs partnership for the opening wicket before Karn Sharma bowled Gill for 26 runs off 17 balls (4 fours).
Since that dismissal, KKR lost their next wickets at regular intervals as the next batsmen were struggling to handle CSK bowlers. However, opener Nitish Rana controlled that innings with his solid batting performance as he completed his fifty in 44 balls.
Rana scored 87 runs off 61 balls (10 fours and 4 sixes) before Lungi Ngidi dismissed him in the 18th over. Except for the openers, only Dinesh Karthik managed to score 20+ runs in that innings as Karthik scored 21 not out off 10 balls (3 fours).
