ToggleIn the 51st match of the IPL 2020, the defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) thrashed Delhi Capitals (DC) by nine wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium (Dubai).
The stand-in Mumbai Indians captain Kieron Pollard decided to field first after winning the toss. Delhi Capitals struggled in the entire first innings as they managed to score only 110/9 (20 overs). Mumbai Indians chased down that target in 14.2 overs after losing only one wicket.

Mumbai Indians (MI) innings
Mumbai Indians openers Ishan Kishan and Quinton de Kock provided a solid start as they set up the 68 runs partnership for the first wicket. Though Anrich Nortje bowled De Kock (26) in the 11th over, it didn’t make any impact on the game.
Kishan reached his fifty runs in 37 balls. While they reached the target with 34 balls left, Kishan was not out on 72 runs off 47 balls (8 fours and 3 sixes) and Suryakumar Yadav scored 12 not out off 11 balls.

Delhi Capitals (DC) innings
All the Delhi Capitals’ batsmen struggled in the entire innings as none of their players reached the 30-run mark while only two batsmen managed to cross the 20-run mark. Opener Shikhar Dhawan scored his second consecutive duck as Trent Boult picked up his wicket on the third ball of that innings.
Another opener Prithvi Shaw only managed to score 10 runs as he was also a victim of Boult. At the end of the powerplay, Delhi Capitals managed to score 22/2.
Captain Shreyas Iyer and wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant set up the 35 runs partnership for the third wicket as both of them were the only players who crossed the 20-run mark in that innings. After the dismissals of Iyer (25) and Pant (21), Delhi Capitals continuously struggled till the end of that innings.
Among the Mumbai Indians bowlers, Trent Boult (3/21) and Jasprit Bumrah (3/17) both got three wickets each. Also, Nathan Coulter-Nile (1/14) and Rahul Chahar (1/24) collected one wicket each in that same innings.
