ToggleIn the 55th match of the IPL 2020, Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by six wickets at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium (Abu Dhabi).
Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer chose to field first after winning the toss. RCB scored 152/7 at the end of the first 20 overs. In reply, Delhi Capitals chased down the target in 19 overs after losing four wickets.
After this result, both teams have secured their spots in the playoffs of this season as Delhi Capitals finished their league stage journey of this tournament in the second position in the IPL 2020 points table. So, Delhi Capitals will now face the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 1 at Dubai (DSC) on 5th November 2020.

Delhi Capitals (DC) innings
In the second over, pacer Mohammed Siraj bowled opener Prithvi Shaw for just 9 runs. But another opener Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane controlled the situation very well and built up the 88 runs partnership for the second wicket.
Both Dhawan and Rahane completed their respective half-centuries in 37 balls. While Dhawan scored 54 runs off 41 balls (6 fours), Rahane scored 60 runs off 46 balls (5 fours and only six).

Though both were dismissed, Delhi Capitals chased down the target with six balls to spare with six wickets still in hands.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) innings
After the opener Josh Philippe was dismissed by Kagiso Rabada in the fifth over, another opener Devdutt Padikkal and captain Virat Kohli controlled the innings with a solid second-wicket partnership.
Padikkal and Kohli put the 57 runs partnership for the second wicket. In the 13th over, Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Kohli for 29 runs. After scoring a 40-ball fifty, Padikkal was bowled by Anrich Nortje for 50 off 41 balls (5 fours) in the 16th over. In that same over, Anrich Nortje was also dismissed for a two-ball duck.
While the RCB batsmen were struggling, AB de Villiers played a crucial knock of 35 runs off 21 balls (only four and 2 sixes) before losing his wicket in the final over of that innings.
Among the Delhi Capitals bowlers, Anrich Nortje (3/33) and Kagiso Rabada (2/30) got three and two wickets respectively. Also, Ravichandran Ashwin (1/18) managed to pick up one wicket in that innings.
