While the IPL 2020 Auction is set to begin soon, the Indian Premier League (IPL) is plotting to introduce a new mid-season loan window for the new season, where capped players can also be loaned along with the uncapped players.
With the time progress, IPL has always tried to introduce new important things or restructure the significant portion to make the tournament more attractive as well as more helpful for the players or teams. Ahead of the new auction for the IPL 2020, the governing council has already decided to introduce an additional umpire to check only the no-balls during the game. Now, they are reportedly thinking to launch a mid-season loan window for the IPL 2020.
The IPL introduced a five-day trading window in the middle of IPL 2019. However, in that trading window, only uncapped players could be traded. No team was interested in that introduction as the uncapped players remained unmoved during that short mid-season trading window.
IPL 2020: mid-season loan window possibilities – players can’t be played more than two matches
The IPL team is likely to bring out a similar conception like the last year’s five-day trading window but in the broader way for the upcoming season. It is expected to be a mid-season loan window, but the capped players can also participate in this movement similarly just like the uncapped players. During this window, the traded players must have to be involved in less than three matches for his team. The final decision on this concept is likely to be taken soon.
In the meantime, the eight franchises are ready to begin the tight battle of IPL 2020 auction. Kolkata is set to host this auction for the first time while Star Sports Network will telecast it live on Thursday (19th December) from 14:30 IST (02:30 PM IST).
While 971 players have registered their names for this auction, a total of 338 players are ready to go for this auction battle. However, a maximum of 73 players can be bought from this auction.
