IPL 2020: One Key Player Of Every Team In Cash-Rich League

All the eight teams are getting ready to begin their IPL 2020 journey which will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) between 19th September and 10th November 2020.

Though all the players are very important for the success of a team, every team has one key player whose form put a major impact on the team’s journey in an IPL season.

Here we are mentioning the one key player of every team on whom the success of the team will be depended in IPL 2020

Rajasthan Royals – Jos Buttler

England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler is currently in very good form with the bat and his IPL team Rajasthan Royals (RR) are surely really happy for this. The inaugural IPL trophy winners (2008) have very limited reliable resources in the batting line-up and the 30-year-old Buttler is one of them.

Buttler is serving for Rajasthan Royals since 2018. Since he joined this team, he is the most run-scorer for his team despite missing almost half of the matches in last season. In the IPL 2018, Buttler finished as the sixth most run-scorer (most run-scorer for his team) as he scored 548 runs in 13 matches.

As the team has a lack of consistent big run-scorers, Buttler’s batting is crucial for their success in the IPL 2020.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – David Warner

Australian cricketer David Warner is the most crucial name in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad. The left-handed opening batsman is one of the most consistent and dangerous performers in the cricket world. Warner is the only cricketer to win three IPL Orange Caps (2015, 2017 and 2019) and he is also the most run-scorer in IPL history among the overseas cricketers.

Due to his strong performances, SRH have put more faith on Warner ahead of the IPL 2020 by allowing him to return to the captaincy role by replacing New Zealand captain Kane Williamson. Under Warner’s leadership, SRH won the IPL 2016. The present SRH batting line-up is widely depended on his start, especially when their middle-order batting is yet to be tested. His strong start allows the SRH team to put a big total on the board which also helps their bowlers.

Kings XI Punjab – KL Rahul

Due to his incredible improvement that helps him to become a consistent performer, Indian cricketer KL Rahul has been appointed as the new captain of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) for the IPL 2020. Talking about their consistent batsman, Rahul is the only player as he finished as the most run-scorer for KXIP in the last two seasons. Though Caribbean opener Chris Gayle also performed well, his consistency was faded away for some period.

As KXIP also have the issue of lack of consistent batsmen, the team heavily relies on the opener Rahul’s powerful starts. While the wicket-keeper batsman has the extra responsibility for KXIP in the upcoming IPL 2020 as he has to lead the team, it will be very interesting to see how he handles this immense pressure.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Virat Kohli

Indian captain Virat Kohli is one of the greatest batsmen in every format. He has maintained this image in the IPL tournament as the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper is the most run-scorer in this tournament history.

In the last three years, the RCB team wasn’t consistent enough but Kohli and former South African captain AB de Villiers maintained their consistent batting performances for the side. As a captain, Kohli’s strong performances lead the team to the stronger path during their batting. A little improvement in the entire team can be very helpful for the side to bring out the continuous positive results in the IPL 2020.

Kolkata Knight Riders – Andre Russell

In the last IPL season (2019), Caribbean all-rounder Andre Russell played very important roles for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He finished as the most run-scorer (510 runs) as well as most wicket-taker (11 wickets) for KKR in the IPL 2019. Due to those performances, Russell won the Most Valuable Player award in the IPL 2019.

In-form Russell can destroy his opponent single-handedly, especially as a batsman. Last year, we clearly experienced how KKR was hugely depended on Russell. Though the KKR have added some top cricketers for the IPL 2020, still Russell needs to play the key role for the KKR.

Delhi Capitals – Shikhar Dhawan

Though Delhi Capitals (DC) have developed a strong team in recent times, experienced opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan is still a very crucial and powerful name in the batting order, who returned to this team in 2019.

Dhawan is one of the most consistent batsmen in the recent IPL tournaments as he scored 450+ runs in all the last four IPL seasons. In the last season, Dhawan finished as the most run-scorer for Delhi Capitals and fourth-most run-scorer in overall. While some talented youngsters are in the Delhi Capitals batting line-up, experienced Dhawan’s presence makes them stronger. Also, captain Shreyas Iyer gets helpful tips from Dhawan that ultimately helps the team.

Mumbai Indians – Jasprit Bumrah

The record four-time IPL winners Mumbai Indians (MI), who will participate as the defending champions in the IPL 2020, have a strong team unity. Though they are also depended on some players, this number is better than the other teams.

However, Mumbai Indians will miss their most experienced bowler, Sri Lankan right-arm pacer Lasith Malinga. The most IPL wicket-taker Malinga is master in the death overs. In the absence of him, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah will have a huge responsibility to handle the death overs in the IPL 2020. Bumrah is one of their consistent bowlers but he will now have to take more responsibility for this team.

Chennai Super Kings – MS Dhoni

The three-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are also the consistent performers in the IPL history as they have never finished below the top four positions in an IPL season. The present CSK team have many experienced, intelligent but some higher-aged players, especially in the batting line-up.

Moreover, the left-handed batsman Suresh Raina, who is the second most run-scorer in IPL history, is unavailable for the IPL 2020.

So, their captain and wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni is going to be the more crucial name of this team in the upcoming IPL tournament.

Dhoni always plays a major role in the success of CSK as his incredible leadership always motivates his teammate. Though he hasn’t played a cricket match for more than a year, everyone believes that they will see stronger Dhoni in the IPL 2020.
