During the 2020 IPL auction, RCB bought uncapped Australian wicket-keeper Josh Philippe for his base price (INR 20 lakh). The 23-year-old Phillipe hasn’t experienced the IPL yet. After playing 32 T20s, the right-handed batsman has scored 798 runs with an average of 33.25 and strike-rate of 138.30, including seven half-centuries. His best T20 knock is 86 not out. During the BBL 2019/20, he finished as the third most run-scorer as he scored 487 runs (average 37.46).

However, the RCB has the experienced Indian wicketkeeper, Parthiv Patel. They also have the occasional Indian wicketkeeper Gurkeerat Singh. So, except for emergency cases, the franchise is unlikely going to utilise Phillippe in the IPL 2020.
