During the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018, where India U19 won their fourth U19 CWC trophy, the right-arm Bengal pacer Ishan Porel highly impressed with his bowling. In that tournament, he bagged six wickets in four matches.

While Ishan made his first-class cricket debut in 2017, he has already played 22 first-class matches, 25 List A games and 14 T20s where he has taken 61, 41 and 16 wickets respectively.

During India A tour of New Zealand early this year, Ishan managed to take a total 10 wickets, including finishing as the joint-most wicket-taker in the List A series (8 wickets).

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) bought Ishan for INR 20 lakh (base price) in the 2020 IPL auction. While he is improving with the time progress, KXIP can utilise this 21-year-old right-arm pacer in the IPL 2020.
