DC’s Director Ganguly accepted Pant’s unavailability in the IPL 2023 has created a void on Delhi’s side-

I spoke to him a couple of times. Obviously he is going through a tough period, through injuries and surgeries and I wish him well. In a year’s time or may be in a couple of years’ time, he will be back playing for India,” sadly expressed Ganguly while speaking on Pant.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter got involved in a car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the early morning of December 30th 2022. He suffered major injuries from the car accident.

Don’t know. We will see,” said Ganguly when asked if Pant will be seen in the dressing room of DC in IPL 16.

Delhi-based club in their recent announcement appointed the Australian veteran Warner as captain for the IPL 16 and Axar Patel as his deputy for the full season. Patel has performed exceptionally well in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and is currently in the second spot on the leading run-scorer list.

The IPL is still a month away and the season has just started. It is difficult to get all the players together for the amount of cricket they play. There are four or five who are playing Irani Trophy. Sarfaraz has an injured finger and it’s not a broken finger. He should be okay for the IPL,” concluded the former Indian skipper.

The 25-year-old made his IPL debut for Delhi in 2016 and has been an integral part of the team since then, he was named DC skipper in the 2021 edition. DC retained Pant before the mini-auction for IPL 16. The left-handed batter has close to 2500 runs in IPL including one hundred.
