Royal Challengers Bangalore wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik provide a massive update on the injury of their star England pacer Reece Topley, who awkwardly injured himself in the field during the 8th over of the Mumbai Indians innings as he was seen in terrible pain and discomfort which ruled him out of the match.
Reece Topley’s injury came as a huge blow for Royal Challengers Bangalore as their death bowling was little exposed as Mumbai Indians scored hefty runs in the backend of the innings.
“It (shoulder) did pop out, but it went back in. I think he went for a scan during the game itself. He’s not in as much pain as we thought he’d be. We’ll have to wait and see,” Dinesh Karthik said post-match.

Reece Topley made his debut in the Indian Premier League on Sunday against Mumbai Indians, picking up a crucial wicket of Cameron Green, before an injury ruled him out of the game. It will interesting to see whether Topley can return for his side in the second game against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had a lot of injury problems before the start of the season losing out England all-rounder Will Jacks for the entire season and Australian pacer Josh Hazelwood for the initial stage of the tournament. Similarly, their star players Rajat Patidar and Wanindu Hasaranga will not available for the initial few games for the team.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans middle order batter Kane Williamson dealt with a serious injury that ruled him out of the Indian Premier League 2023. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be hoping Reece Topley to recover quickly from his injury.
The Way Both Openers Batted Was Brilliant – Dinesh Karthik Lauds Faf and Virat For Their Batting
Dinesh Karthik heaped praise on their star opening pair Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis for their brilliant batting in their first game against Mumbai Indians. RCB opener stitched a brilliant partnership of 148 runs which eventually helped Royal Challengers Bangalore to chase down the total in under 17 overs.
“We played some good cricket, we got some wickets upfront, and we controlled it through the middle. Yes, they got away, in the end, a little bit, but yes, that tends to happen in T20 cricket. The way both openers batted was brilliant, two legends of this game coming out with a lot of intent,” Dinesh Karthik said.

Dinesh Karthik said it was brilliant to play in full- a packed Chinnaswamy stadium as the fans were terrific throughout the match supporting Royal Challengers Bangalore.
“You’ve got to understand that a match is played at Bangalore after three years. They have been deprived of the fact that they haven’t watched us closely,” Dinesh Karthik added.
Dinesh Karthik didn’t have an impact in the match as he was dismissed for three ball duck as the team went on to finish the match quickly. Royal Challengers Bangalore will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Eden Gardens on April 6.
