Mumbai Indians finisher Tim David thinks that it is difficult to make a plan for KKR batters as they have got dangerous batsmen in their lineup. The two-time champions have got Nitish Rana, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell in their team–and can take away the game from their opposition on their given day. Rohit Sharma-led side will take on KKR on Sunday at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
Addressing the media, ahead of their clash against Nitish Rana-led Kolkata Knight Riders, Tim David said that early wickets would be the key for his team, stating that the visiting team has got threatening batters in their team.
“They (KKR) have got some dangerous batsmen and (if) our bowlers get them out (early) that will be a perfect start for us,” Tim David said.
Kolkata Knight Riders were able to bounce back from the struggling positions in the last three games, finding new heroes in form of Shardul Thakur and Rinku Singh, as they take away the game in a short period.
“But no, it is tough to plan, I think. We are more focused on ourselves and we want to play a good game and we know when we play our best cricket we are going to the top,” he added.
According to reports, Mumbai Indians Jofra Archer will miss out on the match against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders. The England speedster was excepted to lead Mumbai Indians’ bowling attack in absence of star Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson but could play only one match so far in the league.
We Want to Make This Our Fortress – Tim David On Playing In-Home Conditions
Tim David expressed his confidence in playing at their home ground and reckons that they want to make Wankhede their fortress in IPL 2023–and wanted to continue their winning momentum against the two-time champions.
“I am not sure how many games I have played so it’s tough to comment on that. It is a new (MI) team but it is our home ground. As a home team here we get great support and we want to make this our fortress, We want to get good results all the time and we want to be confident about the style of cricket we want to play here and take on every team,” Tim David added.
Five-time Champions Mumbai Indians have a very good record against the Kolkata Knight Riders and will look to register their second straight win in the league stage.
