Mumbai Indians speedster Jofra Archer is hopeful of playing for the five-time champions in the forthcoming games. He said that he is working on getting a match-fit for the game against Punjab Kings on Saturday. The 28-year-old speedster has not featured for Mumbai Indians post their season-opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The England pacer was excepted to lead Mumbai Indian bowling attack in absence of their star Indian pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson but could not play all the games for his side so far.

Jofra Archer struggled due to his fitness issues over the last couple of years and made a comeback in SA20 for MI Cape Town, but found it difficult to find his rhythm after coming back from a long injury lay-off.

“Obviously the last two weeks aren’t exactly what you would hope for after being so fully active, But it’s what you expect when you’ve been off for a long time, the body’s not going to be 100 percent straight away,” speaking about his comeback to the playing 11, Jofra Archer told Espncricinfo.

Archer is closely working with the Mumbai Indians medical team and they will take a call on his participation in the forthcoming games. The right-arm pacer is eager to bowl fast and get into his zone in bowling.

“There are going to be moments where it feels a lot more serious than it is. I don’t know which game will be the next game, but I’m just trying to put myself in the best position possible. To be honest, I still want to bowl fast and stuff – but when you feel good, you bowl good. I just want to focus on feeling good at the minute.”

I Couldn’t Believe The Atmosphere – Jofra Archer On Playing CSK In Wankhede Stadium

Jofra Archer admitted that he could not bowl well against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Chinnaswamy Stadium. His team was hammered by Faf du Plessis-led side in the opener.

The England speedster opened up about their game against the arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings, where he said it was an unreal experience in the Wankhede Stadium–and is hopeful of playing in the home game very soon for Mumbai.

“I probably didn’t have the debut that I wanted, but I do have the opportunity to debut at home. Hopefully, I can make it a proper one this time. When we played Chennai at home, I couldn’t believe the atmosphere – both teams have an unbelievable following. It is always great seeing the sea of blue,” Jofra Archer added.
The five-time champions made a brilliant comeback winning three games in a row after facing back-to-back defeats in the first two games they played, for their sixth game in the season Rohit Sharma-led side will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 22 at Wankhede Stadium on Mumbai.
