Former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa lauded MS Dhoni for passing his knowledge to the youngsters around him–and feels even the coaches and support staff can learn many things from the former Indian captain. After the match on Friday, Sunrisers Hyderabad youngsters were seen listening to the CSK skipper.
After winning the match comfortably against the 2016 champions, MS Dhoni was seen sharing his words of wisdom with the promising cricketers of Sunrisers Hyderabad, where about 8 to 9 youngsters were listening to the Indian legend on the Chepauk field.
Robin Uthappa is seen commentating for Jiocinema in IPL 2023, along with the legendary Anil Kumble, Suresh Raina, and Parthiv Patel for the cash-rich league.
“See, this is golden for these kids. To be able to rub shoulders with him and ask questions. They look forward to this opportunity He is sharing whatever he can share with them and express to it, which I think is phenomenal,” Robin Uthappa said regarding Dhoni’s act of sharing experiences with the youngsters, on Jio Cinema.
Robin Uthappa said that youngsters would always look forward to meeting MS Dhoni, whenever their play Chennai Super Kings and feels that two to five minutes of MS Dhoni’s advice would help the youngsters to pick his brains, which would eventually help them grow in their careers.
“When they are going to Chennai, they think ‘I am going to spend 5 minutes with MS Dhoni, what am I going to ask?’ Even if they have 2 minutes to pick his brains the fact that he is making himself available to that after every game, that just shows what kind of a man he is”.
Robin Uthappa played under the leadership of MS Dhoni in the Indian team and later with Chennai Super Kings, with whom he shares good rapport on and off the field. Uthappa was part of the India team in the inaugural edition of the ICC World T20 Championship under MS Dhoni.

Robin Uthappa believes that support staff and the other franchise captains can learn a lot from the 2011- World Cup-winning captain to know about playing in different conditions and can pick-up up a few tactics from MS Dhoni. SRH batting coach Hemang Badani was seen chatting with MS Dhoni after the match.
” I think some of the coaches and captains should also go up to him and talk to him about what the strategies are that need to happen in so many different teams, especially in home conditions. You have got to set the team up according to the players, according to the conditions. A lot of teams are not doing that, sometimes it’s a no-brainer,” Robin Uthappa added.
Chennai Super Kings have won four of their first six matches in the IPL and will look to continue their winning momentum against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday in Iconic Eden Gardens.
