The loss of Andre Russell even before the start has already put the Knight Riders on the back foot. However, they tried to recover from that setback by giving their best shot at the auction table. The Knight Riders management has roped in exceptional pacers in the form of Trent Boult, Chris Woakes and Nathan Coulter-Nile. With talented Indian pacers in the form of Umesh Yadav and Ankeet Rajpoot present, things look even brighter.
Nevertheless, the Knight Riders missed a trick or two by not roping in a power hitter. It was right in this department where Russell would thrash the bowlers every other day. The question mark over the form of Yusuf Pathan and Robin Uthappa further put the batting in jeopardy. That will put added burden on the likes of Gautam Gambhir and Manish Pandey.
