Motera Stadium to host IPL 2020 final

During a question-answer session on Sports Tak, the sports journalist Vikrant Gupta while answering a fan’s question about the Ahmedabad stadium, said that the Motera Stadium might host the final of 13th edition of IPL.
“Let me tell you one thing, the final of the upcoming IPL season will be played in Ahmedabad. Although we do not know the official dates for the match but the IPL 2020 final will be most likely played in that stadium having 1,10,000 seating capacity.”
Motera Stadium has faced many historic moments
This Gujarat Ground has hosted many historic moments – Sunil Gavaskar completed 10,000 runs in Test cricket in 1986–87 against Pakistan, Sachin Tendulkar scored his first Test double-hundred in a match against New Zealand in 1999, and Kapil Dev scalped his 432nd wicket in Test cricket to pass Sir Richard Hadlee’s record of most Test wickets at that time. Now, the ground might set another memorable moment by hosting the final of the Indian Premier League 2020.
Meanwhile, in the auction, a total of 62 players were bought by the eight franchises. Undoubtedly, Pat Cummins became the most expensive overseas purchase in IPL’s history.
