The 2nd semi final of the CLT20 2014 will be played between Chennai SuperKings and Knigs X11 Punjab at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium , Hyderabad from 8pm onwards on 2nd October. Here is the preview of the match between Chennai SuperKings and Kings XI Punjab.

The pitch will assist the spinners and both the teams will fancy that. They both have enough in their spin department.

Strong Points:

Chennai SuperKings will bank on their powerful top order to set the match for them . Smith , McCullum and Raina have won many matches for them and the team will hope to see the same in this must win match. MS Dhoni will have to finish on the high , and along with Bravo and Jadeja , he will form the core of  a good finisher’s line up. CSK will bank on their spinners to hold it up in the middle overs and also pick up wickets as the pitch will be assisting them. Ashish Nehra’s form has been a high point , with he picking up initial wickets and also coming at the death to bowl some good yorkers.

Kings XI Punjab is a batting heavy side and all of the top order have proved their worth. They are not affected by the fall of wickets and have played their natural game so far in the tournament. They have the most depth in their batting line up, with Akshar atel already having won a game for them with the bat. Akshar Patel and Anureet Singh have been excellent for them .

Weak Points:

CSK’s bowling has been below par with their pacers going for plenty so far and spinners coming to the rescue. But , Kings XI have got many good players of spin and this might cause a big problem for CSK.

For Kings XI , they don’t have a pacer with raw pace and CSK openers will look to go after the bowlers and put pressure on the opposition. Perera has so far been used only as a death bowler and it will be interesting to see if they persist with the same.

Taking everything into consideration, Kings XI have an upper hand in the match and they have a 55-45 percent chance of winning the match.
