After 13 personnel tested positive in the Chennai Super Kings squad, the franchise had come under massive scrutiny. The questions were raised on their training camp in India before landing in the UAE. There was also fear of the cancellation of the IPL 2020. But there was a sigh of relief after all the COVID-19 tests turned out negative and CSK started their training camp.
As MS Dhoni-led side is ready to play the tournament opener against MI on 19th September, CSK CEO KS Viswanathan has expressed that the team is in ‘very good shape’. He expressed that fans need to worry about CSK’s situation because they have a skipper who has always been a saviour for the team in tough situations.

“To all the Chennai Super Kings’ super fans, this is to confirm that the team is in very good shape, you need not worry. We have a skipper who has navigated us through very tough times. Thalaivan will definitely take care of the team and we are very confident,” Viswanathan said in a video posted on the franchise’s Twitter handle.
Players in good spirit: CSK CEO

To keep the team environment positive, captain MS Dhoni and coaches interact with players on a regular basis through Zoom calls. Viswanathan said that the players are in good spirits.
“The players are in good spirits. We have had regular Zoom meetings in which the coaches and the captain have addressed the players and all of them are in a good frame of mind. I am happy to report that the team is in very good shape to take care of the matches that are coming up in the IPL,” he added.
The IPL 2020 will be played from September 19 to November 10 in the UAE across three venues –Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
