Delhi Daredevils (DD) kept their chances alive in the tournament as they beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by four runs in a rain-marred encounter at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.

Rain gods affected twice in the game as the overs got reduced to 18 overs and 12 overs respectively in the second innings.

Delhi batting first posted a towering 196 runs on the board banking on a strong performance from the top-order.

Prithvi Shaw (47) and skipper Shreyas Iyer (50) provided a brilliant start although losing Colin Munro early in the innings.

Moreover, Rishabh Pant (69 of 29) banked on the brilliant start to post a massive total well-supported by Vijay Shankar (17 off 6).

Meanwhile, the Duckworth-Lewis (DLS) method set a target of 151 runs in the reduced 12 overs, as the showers came pouring at the fag end of the first innings.

However, the visitors displayed a brilliant show to almost chase down the nearly impossible task but fell short of just four runs.

Jos Buttler (67) and D’Arcy Short (44) ensured the Royals be at par with the required run-rate.

However, two quick wickets in the middle ensured Delhi to keep the control of the game.

A brilliant last over from Trent Boult handed Delhi a crucial two points as he defended 15 runs from the last over.
