Mumbai Indians’ (MI) Director of Cricket Operations Zaheer Khan has opined that the team is excited for the ‘world-class bowler’ Trent Boult to join the squad in the UAE for the upcoming IPL edition.
Mumbai Indians had traded Trent Boult from Delhi Capitals ahead of the IPL 2020 auction. Although MI’s pace bowling attack is lethal with Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga in the squad, Trent Boult inclusion will further enhance the team’s bowling strength.

Speaking of Trent Boult in a Q&A on Mumbai Indians’ official Twitter page, Zaheer Khan opined that the New Zealand player was a fantastic player and had terrific records. He added that Trent Boult would help the MI to get early breakthroughs which will set the tone for the team.
“About Boult’s addition to the squad, aren’t you guys excited with his addition to the squad! I am sure the whole MI paltan must be excited that Boult is going to be a part of Mumbai Indians.”
“He [Trent Boult] is a fantastic bowler, world-class bowler and has got a terrific record. So we are all looking forward to him joining the squad as soon as possible and giving us those early breakthroughs which will set the tone for us,” Zaheer Khan said.

Boult will be the first time playing for MI in his IPL career. The Kiwi player has featured for Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the cash-rich league. He has so far played 33 IPL matches and picked 38 wickets.
Meanwhile, MI’s veteran pacer Lasith Malinga is likely to miss the action for the first week in the UAE. As per reports, the speedster’s father is ill and will go under surgery. So, Malinga has decided to stay back with his father.
Currently, almost all the players of the Mumbai-based franchise in Abu Dhabi and has been quarantined. The IPL 2020 is slated to start from 19th September and the grand finale of the league will be played on 10th November.
