We Need Fire Trucks: Irfan Pathan Hits Back at Twitter Trolls

Irfan Pathan has been quite active across social media over the past few years. His opinions and ideology has often been criticised and slammed by a certain section of his followers. On Monday, Pathan gave a befitting reply to the Twitter trolls for spreading hatred among people.

Citizens of India got together on Sunday at 9 pm to show solidarity towards each other and stand united.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi had appealed to the people of India to switch off the lights and stand at their respective balconies with candles, torch lights which were a part of Modi’s ‘9-baje 9-minute appeal’.

Irfan Pathan slammed Twitter trolls

While most of the people showed their supports, certain miscreants burst firecrackers and took to the streets- defying the very purpose of social distancing. Just like many, Pathan wasn’t amused either. After being targeted by the trolls, Pathan took a dig at the haters with another tweet.

He addressed the issue on Facebook and remarked, “If I who represented India at the international level can get so much hate to imagine what a normal Indian citizen must be going thru? Can we all get together n stop this hate? Please can we make a conscious effort to be spread sanity? This advice n question is for ppl of every faith….”

He received ample support from well-wishers and fans.

One of his fans even asked him to ignore the bullies, to which Pathan said, “I’m not worried abt WHAT PPL WILL SAY. PPL WHO KNOW ME AWARE OF MY CHARACTER, But HATE has to stop,” he wrote.

The ex-seamer and his brother Yusuf Pathan, who is an active cricketer, have been helping the poor and needy people as the world fights Coronavirus pandemic. The duo has distributed 10,000 kg rice and 700 kg potato to the people of Baroda.

India recorded a jump of 704 cases within the past 24 hours. The death toll stands at 111, while over 4,281 people have been infected. Pathan has represented India in 29 Tests, picking a total of 100 wickets including a hat-trick against Pakistan.

The left-arm pacer has played 144 white-ball matches, and last appeared for India in 2012. Apart from Pathan, many other cricketers have pledged to donate in this hour of crisis. Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh have come out in support of homeless people.
