It’s Not 1975…!!! Shahid Afridi Clarifies His Real Age At His Book Launch
Of late, the mystery behind the real age of Shahid Afridi has become a concern for every cricketing fanatic. Recently, we came across the Pakistan cricketer revealed that his age was faked when he entered into the Pakistan Cricket Team At International Arena.
Then Afridi quoted that he was born in 1975 in the recent book launch ceremony, which made analysts refine many of glorious achievements in the recent past.
During the course, Afridi quoted that he smashed the 37-ball knock hundred at 19 years of age but not at 16 years.
“Also, for the record, I was just nineteen, and not sixteen like they claim. I was born in 1975. So, yes, the authorities stated my age incorrectly,” he wrote in his book.
Then came the real confusion as per his mentioning of 1975, he would have been 17 years of age when he smashed the record.

Now, he clarifies in the book launch saying that there was a mistake on the book, which was written 1975 but actually, he was born on 1977, which will be on the printed edition that is being circulated.
On Saturday, in his book launch in Karachi, Afridi clarified his real age. “When I planned the book I had decided to tell them my correct age … there is a miscalculation in the book… they wrote my birth year is 1975 but it’s 1977… e-copy will have the correct age,” said the former Pakistani captain.
Well, as per the new headline, Shahid Afridi has made his debut at the age of 19 years and went to play for 19-20 glorious years in the international format of the game before retiring at the age of 38-39 years, as Afridi didn’t mention the month.
Well, Shahid Afridi revealed many interesting aspects of his cricketing career in his autobiography. The book released in India and Pakistan and already making waves, as Afridi said.
As far as the career stats are concerned, Afridi appeared in 27 Test matches, 398 ODI games, 99 T20 International games and also participated in Indian Premier League.
