Over the years, the game of cricket witnessed many cricketers cheating the higher officials by frauding their age. Meanwhile, the all-time great Shahid Afridi also falls under the same category, who faked his age when he first made his debut for Pakistan. The cricketer himself reveals it in his autobiography.

As per the records, the all-rounder from Pakistan was born on March 1st, 1980, which means that he is 39-year-old now. But, the real birth year of Afridi is 1975, who mentioned in his book, as per the lines on ESPN Cricinfo. However, he failed to specify the date or the month.

It means that his 37-ball 100, which was scored by a 16-year-old boy was not true, as he would be around 20-21 years of age at that time. However, there is nothing to do with it now. But, surprisingly, Afridi wrote that he smashed 37-ball 100 at the age of 19 years, which confused everyone.

“Also, for the record, I was just nineteen, and not sixteen like they claim. I was born in 1975. So, yes, the authorities stated my age incorrectly.”

For more than 17 years, the 37-ball 100 record of Shahid Afridi, who came to bat at number 3 remained the fastest century in the ODI format before Corey Anderson of New Zealand broke the record in January 2014.
