Former Australian pacer Jason Gillespie has recently highly praised the present Indian pace-bowling attack when he was comparing it with the current pace-bowling line-up in the world cricket.

Since October 2016, the Indian national cricket team is consistently maintaining the top position of the ICC Test rankings. While the batsmen and spinners dominated the world cricket in the Indian cricket history, now the Indian pacers are playing the most crucial role for the national side. Whether they are playing at home or outside India, the pace bowlers are always taking up the big roles for success.

Recently, Jason Gillespie has lauded the Indian pace bowling attack as he called that Jasprit BumrahMohammed Shami is one of the most exciting bowling combinations in the world. Both Bumrah and Shami are highly consistent with their pace bowling skills. Gillespie also praised the present Australian pace-bowling line-up where Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins are controlling with the ball in hand.

Jason Gillespie claimed according to Hindustan Times, “India have a fantastic attack. I think there are some wonderful pace attacks in the world at the moment. I particularly enjoy watching Australia and India’s pace attacks. It’s tough to go past (Mitchell) Starc, (Josh) Hazlewood and (Pat) Cummins in my opinion. However, what I can say is that Bumrah and Shami is one of the most exciting bowling combinations in the world.”

While Mohammed Shami was the joint second most wicket-taker in international cricket (77 wickets) in last year, Bumrah has developed himself as one of the toughest pacers in the world cricket.

Playing under Kohli is great for Ishant – Jason Gillespie

However, Jason Gillespie is not surprised to see the recent growth of the Indian pace bowling. He also praised the tall Indian pacer Ishant Sharma, who is currently the third most Test wicket-taker among the Indian pacers.

Gillespie added, ”I’m not surprised that India has pace bowling riches. There’ve always been a lot of talented fast bowlers in India. Playing under Kohli is great for Ishant (Sharma). He comes across as a leader who backs and trusts his quick bowlers.”

Just a few days back, Ishant Sharma credited Jason Gillespie to develop him as one of the top pacers in the Indian Test team. Gillespie is the coach of English County cricket side Sussex where Ishant played in 2018 season. Since that county season experience, Ishant has remarkably developed his bowling as the experienced pacer is now very consistent performer with the ball in hand.
