David Warner and Jonny Bairstow ripped apart the opposition bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019. Who would have imagined that an Aussie and an Englishman would have made a daunting pair but Warner and Bairstow proved everyone wrong?
Warner hammered 692 runs in 12 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) whereas his opening partner, Bairstow amassed 445 runs in 10 matches. Both were involved in some memorable partnerships in IPL 2019. Meanwhile, Jonny Bairstow continues his form for England and credits IPL for his success.
Jonny Bairstow said playing alongside the likes of Australia’s David Warner in the Indian Premier League had helped take his game to new heights after his match-winning hundred against Pakistan in Bristol. HIs blistering 128-run knock helped England seal a victory while chasing a massive tally on the board.

“You’re able to learn different things from different coaches and different players. It’s just little things like game plans. Warner hits in completely different areas to potentially myself. I guess it’s method more than anything else. But learning from them, as well as the guys here, that can only be a good thing playing under pressure with expectation,” Jonny Bairstow said.
Miffed to get out – Jonny Bairstow
Jonny Bairstow played a sensational knock to help his side win the game. Despite that, Jonny Bairstow isn’t happy, as he couldn’t see his side through to the victory by staying at the crease. He feels that there was a double hundred for taking.

“I was cross because you want to see that through. You want to be going on and getting 160 or 170, and potentially 200 and seeing your team through. We are backing ourselves and competition is healthy all the way through. That’s a good place to be and I was cross about it,” he added.
However, of late, Jonny Bairstow has become a throne to the bowlers for his ability to get quick runs for the team. He would like to finish the bilateral series on a positive note by bagging a big tally to his name at the end of the series. Jonny Bairstow is going to be the vital cog for the England team’s chances in ICC World Cup 2019.
