JP Duminy Pens Deal With Rajshahi Kings for BPL 2019-20
The Proteas star had recently announced his retirement from the ODI leg post-2019 ICC World Cup in the United Kingdom (UK).
Duminy alongside leg-spinner Tahir had bid adieu to the 50-over format following South Africa last league stage match against Australia which they eventually won by ten runs at the Old Trafford in Manchester.
The 35-year-old had represented South Africa in 199 ODIs. In March, this year, the southpaw had announced retirement from the domestic cricket.
JP Duminy to prove his worth for Rajshahi Kings at the BPL 2019-20 season:
Kings had revealed Duminy’s signing on its official Twitter handle. The Kings maintained they’re delighted to have Duminy on board who is a three-dimensional player. The tweet also stressed that Duminy had represented South Africa for over 14 years.
“Rajshahi Kings are proud to announce that South African allrounder @jpduminy21 is a King now. Duminy; an elegant left-handed batsman, a useful spinner and a sharp fielder, has served South Africa for more than 14 years,” Kings tweeted.
Personally, Dhoni had recently thanked his die-hard fans, teammates, coaching staff for their unconditional support through thick and thin. While reflecting on his international career, Duminy had expressed gratitude in serving his national team in a best possible way.
“As one reflect on what has been all I can say is THANK YOU. Thank you Lord for the Blessings afforded for so many years. To my family, friends, teammates, coaches, and supporters all over the world, thank you for the luv and support. Much luv and peace to all, Here’s to the next,” Duminy had tweeted.
With Duminy’s wealth of experience bringing a lot to the table, he had represented in distinct T20 leagues. He had featured in 83 IPL matches in which he accumulated 2029 runs at an average of 39.78. He has 14 half-centuries to his name in 77 IPL innings.

Also, with his part-time spin bowling, Duminy had snared 23 wickets in the cash-rich league.
Despite missing out in the IPL 2019, Duminy is a sort of player who could grab the eyeballs with his all-round show. In 2018, Duminy had represented four-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) led by Rohit Sharma.
Also, he had recently been a part of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Recently, Shane Watson had joined Khulna Titans, whereas, David Miller will play for Dhaka Dynamites in the BPL.
Meanwhile, the seventh season of the BPL will commence from the first week of December, 2019.
